Philip Myrick—artist, teacher, and proud Georgia native. Philip works primarily in oil on canvas and panel, often blending in mixed media and found objects to give his work a sense of texture and unexpected depth. He loves building layers, working with bold brushstrokes and waxy mediums to create pieces that feel alive and full of movement.
Philip studied at SCAD and the Creative Circus Portfolio School, and spent several years on the art festival circuit, meeting people and showing his work across the region. These days, he has found his creative home teaching Oil Painting and Life Drawing at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art—a dream come true that lets him share what he loves with the community that shaped him.
Whether it’s a painting he has already created, a pet portrait, a mixed media piece, or a one-of-a-kind design project, his goal is always the same: to make something that feels meaningful, personal, and a little bit unexpected.
Philip is open to taking custom commission work through the gallery. Please inquire with us about the possibilities and prices.
